One of the newest additions to the local food scene, Ty’r Felin is right in the heart of Loggerheads Country Park and makes a natural stop before or after exploring its woodland and riverside walks.
The café is run by the team behind local producer Chilly Cow and serves drinks, cakes, savouries and lunch, with Chilly Cow ice cream naturally making an appearance too. There’s indoor and outdoor dining as well as a takeaway hatch, so it works particularly well when you’re making a day of exploring Loggerheads.
We love this one because you don’t have to choose between a day out and a café stop. Do both!

You’ll find The Coffee House at 15 High Street, making it another easy addition to a few hours spent wandering around Mold.
Although it now has locations across the North, The Coffee House remains independently owned. Its story began with two brothers opening their first shop in Lymm in 2011, and the business now roasts its own coffee, bakes cakes and prepares fresh food for its stores. (Coffee House)

One of the things we always encourage guests to do is leave a little space in the itinerary.
You don’t need to rush from one North Wales attraction to another.
Spend the morning walking. Find somewhere local for lunch. Wander around Mold or Ruthin. Stop for cake simply because it looks good.
Supporting independent cafés, shops, pubs and producers is also a lovely way to experience more of the area you’re visiting.
And then, of course, you can head back to Famau Cabins, put your feet up and finish the day in the hot tub.
